MAIN DUTIES:

We are seeking professionally qualified Structural Examiners (STE4 Competent) with a strong background in civil engineering and experience of undertaking all STE4 duties.

As an STE4, you will undertake accurate examinations, gather information which relates to the current condition and situation of rail structures, using company and technical documentation for reference particularly NR examination standards NR/L3/CIV/006

Following the examinations, you will produce examination reports to accurately reflect structures integrity and ensure that they provide a valid and complete picture of any degradation including suitable sketches and photographs.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake accurate examinations, gather information which relates to the current condition and situation of rail structures, using company and technical documentation for reference particularly NR examination standards NR/L3/CIV/006.
  • Record findings of examinations, keeping good records using site notes / sketches and photographs. Ensure records are stored electronically in accordance with company procedures.
  • Undertake reconnaissance visits where appropriate and provide adequate resource plans to include proposed methods of working inclusive of labour and plant resource estimates.
  • Working with the Work Delivery team, facilitate the delivery of on-site activities including overseeing high pressure jetting of culverts ensuring that the works are completed safely, on time and without incident. Ensuring that all data is captured accurately, clearly and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Produce examination report to accurately reflect structure integrity and that it provides a valid and complete picture of any degradation including suitable sketches and photographs.
  • Take responsibility for the recognition of and dealing with serious defects which pose an immediate threat to the safety of the public or rail traffic in accordance with company procedures.
  • Keep personal record of examinations undertaken using company standard log book.
  • Actively develop working methods to improve the quality, quantity and safety of examination activities.
  • Provide mentoring to examiners in training or any other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • Possess the ability to work in a home-based role but closely with a remote team of support staff and other colleagues, as well as manage and plan your own workload.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience working within the railway industry, managing the delivery of multi-disciplined projects.
  • Strong background in civil engineering is essential.
  • Experience of undertaking STE4 duties.
  • Experience working as part of a team, and managing less experienced team members.
  • MS Office Skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE:

  • IRATA Rope Access qualification (in-date) of any level with current accurately completed logbook.
  • PTS / COSS / IWA Railway Competencies.
  • Drawing Package experience such as Visio/Smartdraw/CAD – Desirable

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified civil engineer, or certified completion bridge inspection / examination training course / or suitably qualified by experience.

MAIN DUTIES:

We are seeking a professionally qualified Building Surveyor with a strong background in civil engineering and experience of undertaking defect diagnosis surveys.

In this role you will be involved in a range of Building Surveys including Structural/Topographical reports and Defect Diagnosis Surveys. SACE will support you to become an expert in any areas you are not familiar with and the role comes with a generous remuneration structure offering excellent earning potential. For the right candidate, opportunities to progress to senior levels.

The ideal candidate will be a Building Surveyor at either MRICS, AssocRICS or MCIOB level who is keen to expand their knowledge in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting on a full range of building surveying instructions on a variety of commercial properties and infrastructure, including offices, retail and industrial.
  • Assisting in providing professional work to clients including schedules of dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, defect diagnosis, planned preventative maintenance reports, fire insurance valuations and schedules of condition.
  • Support small to medium project work which can typically range from £20k to £2million where SACE performs the role of designer, contract administrator, project manager or an employer’s agent.
  • Business Development.
  • Provide mentoring to graduates in training or any other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • The ability to work in a home-based role but closely with a remote team of support staff and other colleagues, as well as manage and plan your own workload whilst delivering professional advice to Clients.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must be a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS, AssocRICS or MCIOB).
  • Can come from any type of Building Surveying background.
  • Experience working within the railway industry, managing the delivery of multi-disciplined projects.
  • Strong background in civil engineering is essential.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • MS Office Skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE:

  • PTS / COSS / IWA Railway Competencies.
  • Drawing Package experience such as Visio/Smartdraw/CAD – Desirable.
  • Experience leading teams, and managing less experienced team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or MSc in Building Surveying with ideally some work experience in a infrastructure support properties
  • Must be a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS, AssocRICS or MCIOB).

MAIN DUTIES:

We are seeking a professionally qualified Structural Engineer with a strong background in civil engineering.

The ideal Structural Engineer will have around 3-5 years of building structures experience and be Chartered IEng/CEng or passionate about working towards chartered membership.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of scheme and concept designs, project documentation, design calculation.
  • Delivery of detailed design including full tender and construction packages.
  • Attending client, design, and site meetings.
  • Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages.
  • Liaising with statutory authorities, architects, the design team and contractors.
  • The ability to work in a home-based role but closely with a remote team of support staff and other colleagues, as well as manage and plan your own workload.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience working within the railway industry, managing the delivery of multi-disciplined projects.
  • Strong background in civil engineering is essential.
  • Experience working as part of a team, and managing less experienced team members.
  • MS Office Skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE:

  • The successful Structural Engineer will have strong communication, analysis, technical design and drawing skills.
  • Be a self-motivated team player with confident people skills. Knowledge of BIM, AutoCAD and Revit will be beneficial.
  • Have varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Experience in the use of Eurocodes.
  • PTS / COSS / IWA Railway Competencies.
  • IRATA Rope Access qualification (in-date) of any level with current accurately completed logbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally, you will be qualified with MEng/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering and be already or, working towards Chartered Membership/Associate Membership of the IStructE/ICE.
