If you would like to get Outlook working please follow the below to add your @sace.uk email account.
1. Get an App specific password (IMPORTANT)
• Open google and login at the top right.
• Select ‘Manage your Google Account’.
• Select ‘Security’ from the left.
• Under ‘Signing into Google’ choose App Passwords
• Under ‘select app’ choose other and call it Outlook
• Copy and paste the generated password (you will need this shortly, and you won’t see it again; if you lose it create another one by doing the above)
2. Activate Gmail for IMAP (This should have been done already but you can check)
• Log into your Gmail account (SACE Account using Gmail).
• Click the gear icon at the top right, then choose Settings.
• Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP to bring up the POP and IMAP settings.
• Click Enable IMAP.
• Click Save Changes.
3. After you configure Gmail for IMAP or check that it is already, you can add your Gmail account to Outlook.
• Start Outlook.
• Choose File → Account Settings.
• In the Account Settings dialog box, click New.
• Choose Email Account, then click Next.
• Choose Manual Setup or Additional Server Types, then click Next.
• Choose Pop or IMAP, then click Next.
4. In the Add Account page, enter the following information:
• Your name: The display name you’d like to use
• Email address: Your complete Gmail address (e.g. me@sace.uk)
• Account type: IMAP
• Incoming mail server: imap.Gmail.com
• Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.Gmail.com
• User name: Your complete SACE address (e.g. me@sace.uk)
• Password: Your App Specific Password from the first step!
5. Click More Settings.
• Click the Outgoing Server tab.
• Select My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication.
• Select Use Same Settings As My Incoming Mail Server.
• Click the Advanced tab.
6. Enter the following information:
• Incoming server (IMAP): 993
• Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
• Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
• Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
7. Click OK to close the More Settings dialog box.
• Click Next.
• Be patient while Outlook tests the connection.
• When the test completes, click Close. (If the test is not successful, carefully double-check all of your entries.)
• Click Finish.
